Sony Music marks the latest content producer to bring its slate to Verizon’s mobile streaming service -Go90. The two companies announced a multi-year agreement to distribute multiple Sony Music-produced series on Go90.
The first three being announced are “Crashed” a hidden camera comedy show; competition series “Car Star”; and a concert series called “A Live Festival.”
Brian Angiolet, SVP of consumer product and marketing at Verizon, noted that in addition to Verizon’s footing in sports and general entertainment, “the music community is another key audience we are aggressively going after.”
Launched last year, Go90 has deals with AwesomenessTV, Fullscreen, New Form Digital, StyleHaul, DanceOn and a number of other digital video-focused studios. The new deal is separate from Go90’s two-series deal with Astronauts Wanted and Sony Music Entertainment announced in 2015.
“Consumers are increasingly turning to mobile devices to watch web series and shows, and we are excited to offer them a diverse line-up of fun and highly engaging programs that provide an all new way to connect with their favorite music and celebrities,” said Lee Stimmel, head of original content for Sony Music Entertainment, in a statement.
