Multi-platform production company Fullscreen announced today that it has hired former Razorfish CEO Pete Stein as general manager of its brand group.
In the newly created role, Stein will work with teams in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Austin to develop concepts, creative strategies and market insights for major brand and agency clients. He’ll also oversee the integration McBeard, the L.A.-based social media studio Fullscreen acquired in May 2015.
“Fullscreen’s extensive creator network and relationships have made us a really effective partner for brands worldwide, and Pete’s experience and industry relationships are the perfect fit to continue the rapid growth of this business,” said Fullscreen COO Andy Forssell om a statement. “He’s proven himself repeatedly in driving innovative new ways for brands to market themselves effectively in a digital world, and we’re lucky to have him take on such a critical role at Fullscreen.”
Stein joins Fullscreen following a year-long stint as executive in residence at Lerer Hippeau Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early stage media and tech companies in New York. Prior that, Stein was Global CEO of Razorfish, a digital agency focused on marketing and business transformation, where he worked with clients that included Mercedez-Benz, Citibank, UNIQLO, Unilever, Ford Motor Company and Starwood Hotel
The Stein hire comes on the heels of last week’s news that Fullscreen is partnering GroupM, the media investment management division of British-based global advertising and public relations giant WPP, to launch the influencer marketing service Playa, which will match brand campaigns for WPP and Group M clients with creators who can reach target audiences at scale.
