NBCUniversal’s new ad-free streaming comedy channel Seeso today revealed premiere dates for four original series and one comedy special.
“Bajillion Dollar Propertie$,” “Big Jay Oakerson’s What’s Your F@%king Deal?!” and “New York’s Funniest” will debut on the platform on March 17, followed by Cameron Esposito’s first-ever stand-up special “Marriage Material,” which will bow on March 24.
“Bajillion Dollar Propertie$” is a half-hour, semi-scripted reality show spoof set against the backdrop of a cutthroat luxury L.A. real estate firm. Created by Kulap Vilaysack, it stars Dan Ahdoot, Tim Baltz, Ryan Gaul, Mandell Maughan, Tawny Newsome, Drew Tarver and Paul F. Tompkins. Vilaysack. Guests will include Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, Gillian Jacobs, Patton Oswalt, Jason Mantzoukas and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
The eight-episode series is executive produced by Vilaysack, Tom Lennon, Ben Garant, Scott Aukerman and David Jargowsky. Production services are provided by Comedy Bang! Bang! Productions for Paramount Television (“The Hotwives of Orlando,” “The Hotwives of Las Vegas,” “Burning Love”).
In “Big Jay Oakerson’s What’s Your F@%king Deal?!,” host Big Jay Oakerson leads a pack of comics in a half-hour improvised show based on interactions with the crowd. Over the course of eight episodes, guests will include Hannibal Buress, Bonnie McFarlane, Colin Quinn, Andy Kindler and Kurt Metzger.
“New York’s Funniest” is a half-hour stand-up competition show recorded at the Manhattan comedy club Caroline’s on Broadway. Hosted by Michael Che (“Saturday Night Live”) and Leslie Jones (“Saturday Night Live”), the four-episode series is produced by New York-based multi-platform production company Deverge and executive produced by Caroline Hirsch, Louis Faranda, Andrew Fox and Lou Wallach.
Officially launched last month, Seeso is available for $3.99 a month at www.seeso.com and on various streaming platforms and connected devices. In addition to original series — including “The UCB Show”and “HarmonQuest” starring Dan Harmon (creator of the NBC/Yahoo series “Community”) — Seeso offers classics from the NBC archives such as “30 Rock,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The Office” and “Saturday Night Live,” as well as licensed shows such as “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” and “Fawlty Towers.”
