Comedian/actor/host Zane Lamphrey (Travel Channel’s “Three Sheets,” National Geographic’s “Chug”) is going commando with his new online travel series “Zane’s World” for 1620 Media.
The show is shot entirely by the cast, without a traditional production crew. Accompanied by their 140-pound Irish Wolfhound Bodie, Lamphrey and his producer/photographer wife Mel travel the world offering unique insights into the best places to visit and how to get the most out of each locale without breaking the bank. Along the way, they are joined by various friends, including TV host and builder Tory Belleci, Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and Jessica Hall (“Kendra On Top”).
1620 Media is the digital division of Pilgrim Media Group, which produces a long list of unscripted cable series inlcuding SyFy’s “Ghost Hunters,” Fox Sports 1’s “The Ultimate Fighter” and FYI’s “Kocktails with Khloé,” as well as telefilms such as Lifetime’s “Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy” and “Abducted: The Carlina White Story.” In November, the 18-year-old company — which is headed by CEO Craig Piligian — received a $200 million cash and stock buy-in from Lionsgate.
“Zane’s World” is the 11th series to from 1620 Studios since its launch last October. Other titles include the comedies “Realistic Street,” “Bros” and “Losing it,” the DIY show “The Mixology Guys,” and the faux talk show “Inside the Extras Studio,” starring Barry Bostwick (“Scandal,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”).
The series premieres today on 1620Media.com, its YouTube channel (recently rebranded as Hotched), and Lamphrey’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, new 3- to 5-minute episodes will premiere, exploring a new location or situation.
