Tasty, Buzzfeed’s food focused vertical, is dominating Facebook video views for February having grapped 1.8 billion video views and over 6.1 million new followers. In fact, food as a category topped the Tubular Labs Facebook rankings for the month with Buzzfeed Food, and two pages from Tastemade, ranking in the Top 10. Entertainment, Sports, and News also landed in the top 10, with personalities and talent represented on a separate counter by Tubular Labs. Over the last year, Facebook has favored those uploading video natively to the Facebook player, causing most publishers to prioritize Facebook video over others. Buzzfeed and Tastemade appear to be such publishers, given neither ranked on YouTube, according to Tubular’s chart. The companies also didn’t rank on Instagram, which is owned by Facebook. NBA, on the other hand, grabbed the top spot for Instagram video views for February, also leading the way on engagement on Facebook alongside Tastemade Brasil and Tip Hero.
