DanceOn has entered into the virtual reality arena with its first 360-degree video, the official music video for TuneCore artist Trevor Wesley’s single “Chivalry is Dead,” directed by Sam Macaroni.
To choreograph the video, DanceOn enlisted Ian Eastwood, a 22-year-old YouTuber from Chicago who made his own dance video to “Chivalry is Dead” (below) that has racked up more than 10 million views.
The video was shot at Republic of Pies in North Hollywood, Ca., following a week of pre-production. The dancers held rehearsal overnight at the location and then went straight into the shoot when the sun came up. The shoot wrapped before it was timefor the business to open.
“Chivalry is Dead” was shot in two takes, using a 360Heros Pro7 camera rig. The first take had Trevor on the piano and all of the dancers. The second take was Trevor on the guitar by himself in the corner. Macaroni put the two shots together in post, and as you look around the room, you can see there are actually two Trevors performing the song
