African-American-targeting network Bounce TV launched a free mobile app today that allows users to access full seasons of its original series, including “Saints & Sinners,” “Mann & Wife” and “Family Time,” as well as episodes of the game shows “The Newlywed Game” and “Catch 21,” a selection of movies, and fights from its “Premier Boxing Champions — The Next Round” show.
According to Bounce TV chief operating officer Jonathan Katz, one of the reasons for launching the app was the fact that MVPDs such as DirecTV and Dish do not offer Bounce.
“The Bounce TV app complements our existing viewership by expanding the network’s available audience base and giving everyone access to our programming,” said Katz in a statement.
Available for both iOS and Android devices, the app also allows provides users to access the network’s programming schedule and set calendar reminders for shows, movies and events, and provides Bounce TV’s network local channel information for the user’s current location.
Bounce TV airs on the broadcast signals of local TV stations and their corresponding cable carriage. It’s currently available in more than 93.5 million homes across the U.S. and 93% of all African-American television homes. Bounce TV’s founder include Martin Luther King III and Ambassador Andrew Young.
