“Algorhythm” was written and executive produced by Craig Benzine, who’s YouTube channel WheezyWaiter has 583K subscribers and 107.8M views. It tells the story of a repressed computer programmer (Benzine) who takes a music calibrating software he developed that can determine whether a song will be a commercial success and sees how it performs when it comes to predicting love.
Benzine is also composing original music for the series, which wrapped production last month. It will debut on Go90 later this year.
“Algorhythm” was developed as part of New Form Digital’s Incubator Series, launched in July 2014. Other projects from the incubator include “The Fourth Door” from BlackBoxTV’s Tony E. Valenzuela and “Miss Earth” (now retitled “Miss 2059”) from Anna Akana, which have also been turned into Go90 series.
Above Average is a digital video comedy initiative from Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video Enterprises, producer of such shows as NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Its credits include web series and videos such as “7 Minutes in Heaven,” “Alec Baldwin’s Love Ride,” “Hudson Valley Ballers,” “Sound Advice” with Vanessa Bayer, and “Everyone’s Upstairs Neighbors.”
