First up will be season two of the dramedy “Casual,” which will premiere its first two episodes on June 7, and roll out the balance one at a time on Tuesdays through Aug. 23.
The action will follow the romantic adventures and family dysfunction of thirtysomething siblings Tommy (Alex Cole) and Valerine (Michaela Watkins) in the aftermath of their parents’ surprise wedding. The series was created by Zander Lehmann, who also executive produces with by Jason Reitman, Helen Estabrook and Liz Tigelaar.
The comedy “Difficult People” (pictured, top) will return for a 10-episode second season on July 12 with two new episodes. Additional episodes will debut every Tuesday through Sept. 6.
In season two, Billy (Billy Eichner) and Julie Klausner continue to have contempt for the world, as he tries to find a boyfriend, while she does her best to avoid a deeper commitment to Arthur (James Urbaniak) and not become her mother (Andrea Martin).
The show will feature returning cast members Gabourey Sidibe and Cole Escola, along with a long list of high-profile guest stars including Tina Fey, Nathan Lane, Julianne Moore, Debbie Harry, Amy Sedaris, Joel McHale, Megan Hilty, Sandra Bernhard, Mark Consuelos, Fred Armisen and Method Man. It was created Klausner, who also executive produces with Amy Poehler, Brooke Posch, Dave Becky, Tony Hernandez and Scott King.
While Hulu is taking a traditional network-style, one-episode-at-a-time approach with “Casual” and “Difficult People,” it is going the binge-friendly route with its ensemble drama “East Los High,” which will debut all 12 episodes of its fourth season on July 15.
This season follows the summer break of East Los High students, as new dancers join the Bomb Squad, bringing “new moves, forbidden romance, high stakes drama and a wedding that can’t be missed.” The series was created and by Carlos Portugal and Kathleen Bedoya, who also executive produce with Katie Elmore Mota and Mauricio Mota of Wise Entertainment. It stars Gabe Chavarria, Danielle Vega, Carlito Olivero, Alexandra Rodriguez, Vannessa Vasquez, JD Pardo and Prince Royce.
