The traditional agencies and management companies continue to scoop digital talent away from MCN’s. The latest — YouTuber and talented filmmaker Sawyer Hartman has signed with Untitled Entertainment, an LA-based talent management firm that also represents online personalities such as Meghan Rienks, Hayes Grier, Lisa Schwartz, Wong Fu Productions, and SWooZie. Hartman, who is currently 26, is one of the unique creators who dovetailed his classically trained filmmaking background into a strong presence on YouTube by using a “vlog-style” channel to promote his scripted passion projects — mostly short films and short form series.
Last year, Hartman released “The Parallax Theory,” a feature-length indie drama, with New Form Digital on Vimeo for its exclusive first window. VideoInk also recognized Hartman for his talent as part of the 30 Digital Creatives to Know list in 2015. And this year, Hartman has recently begun working on a new auto-biopic series that involves Hartman filming a day-in-the-life episode every day for 391 days leading up to his 27th birthday.
“As someone who has always taken the initiative to try and create the life I want to live myself, I’m beyond excited to see what can be created now that I’ve partnered with a management company as strong as Untitled,” Sawyer Hartman told VideoInk in an email.
Untitled Entertainment will represent Sawyer in all areas of his business. He is repped by attorney Scott Hervey, a partner at Weintraub Tobin.
