YouTube creators Jeanine Amapola and Whitney White have signed with Abrams Artists Agency (AAA) under the alternative programming and digital department. Abrams’ Keith Bielory and Mark Turner, a VP at AAA, will represent both ladies in all areas, as well as digital and brand-related opportunities.
Amapola has built her presence on YouTube by doing makeup and fitness tutorials as well as fashion hauls and comedy videos. She’s already become a go-to talent for major beauty and fashion brands like Neutrogena and Sephora. White also specializes in beauty related video and has been credited as one of the original beauty YouTubers, with an expertise in hair care and styling. Her blog, Naptural85.com was named the ‘Best Natural Hair Blog” in 2015 by Essence Magazine.
Over the last year, Abrams has been rapidly expanding its roster of digital-first talent, especially in the lifestyle and beauty / fashion categories. Other recent digital signings in the category include Andrea Brooks, Amy Pham, Breland Emory and Sazan Hendrix.
The signings again underpin a shift that is happening in the digital and online video-native talent arena, as more digital stars sign with traditional agencies over multi-channnel networks like Big Frame and Fullscreen, which often operate as talent management firms.
The news also comes on the heels of Abrams announcing a recent office move and expansion to the Pacific Design Center. As part of the expansion, Abrams has built its own studio for its talent to use as a way to empower them to continue producing high quality, premium video.
“Particularly in the past few years, our expansion has been phenomenal, and we are eager to offer our talented staff even more room to grow, both literally and figuratively,” said Abrams Artists Agency founder and CEO Harry Abrams.
