YouTube Space is coming to Florida via a partnership with NBCUniversal-owned network Telemundo, the #1 producer of Spanish-language content in the U.S.
They’re collaborating on a temporary YouTube Pop-Up Space at the Wynwood Warehouse Project in Miami that will be open today through July 28.
The three-day event will bring together YouTube creators and Telemundo stars to produce original content, which the creators will be able to enter into competition for Telemundo’s Best Novela Scene by YouTube Creators award.
The first YouTube Space opened up at a former Hughes Aircraft helicopter factory in Playa Vista, Ca., south of Los Angeles, in late 2012. Today, there are a total of nine YouTube Spaces in cities around the world, including London, Tokyo, New York, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Paris, Mumbai and Toronto.
Participants at the YouTube Pop-Up Space event in Miami will include creators Sebastian Villalobos, Sandra Cires and Mario Ruiz and Telemundo novela stars such as Gabriel Rossi and Alexandra Pomales.
Five finalists will be invited to participate in Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo 2016 red carpet, live show and after party, as well as take part in interviews on “Un Nuevo Dia.” The creators of the video with the most YouTube engagement will be presented with the Best Novela Scene by YouTube Creators award during the awards show, which will air live from the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Aug. 25.
