The news last week that Hulu was valued at $5.8B on account of a 10% stake taken by Time Warner for $583M rippled through the industry. In just three years since taking post as CEO, Mike Hopkins has elevated the Hulu brand, programming and position to a strong number two to Netflix, which currently commands over 83 million subscribers globally. Hulu also announced it would shutter its ad-free tier moving wholly to subscription.
