Gaming and fandom-focused multi-platform production company Machinima announced today that it is teaming with satellite radio giant SiriusXM to create a new daily radio show dedicated to esports and competitive gaming, titled “Machinima’s Inside eSports Radio.”
Hosted by Alex “Axeltoss” Rodriguez and Joshua “Piscator” Lee, it will launch today and air every weekday from 6–7 p.m. ET/3–4 p.m. PT on SiriusXM Bleacher Report Radio (channel 83), which is available to subscribers nationwide on satellite radios and the SiriusXM app.
“Machinima’s Inside eSports Radio” will deliver the latest news, highlights, and analysis from the biggest tournaments, with a focus on first-person shooter, multi-player online battle arena (MOBAs), real time strategy, and fighting games. In addition to hosts Rodriguez and Lee, the show will feature guests including high-level players, celebrity gamers, and traditional athletes with a passion for esports.
Earlier this year, Machinima produced the first-ever esports show on U.S. broadcast television, “Machinima’s Chasing the Cup,” which aired on The CW.
But Machinima hasn’t forgotten its bread and butter online video content. Last month, the 16-year-old video game site-turned-MCN revamped its channel lineup across social video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), launching new channels and refining the focus of existing ones. For instance, the flagship Machinima channel now concentrates on game-driven news and entertainment, while its new Primr channel (formerly Prime) is now its hub for scripted entertainment.
