Time Inc. announced today that entered into a partnership with multi-platform production company and comedy community Jash to jointly provide a multi-platform comedy content creation engine for advertisers via The Foundry, Time Inc.’s creative lab and content studio.
Under the terms of the deal, Jash will bundle its content with Time Inc.’s premium digital media and distribute it to Time Inc.’s digital audience.
“The appetite for smart, premium comedy content is high, especially in the branded world,” Doug DeLuca, executive chairman of Jash, in a statement. “We’ve seen that reflected in how fast the division has grown at Jash. Together with The Foundry and Time Inc., we’ll deliver this work with brands, at scale, across expanded distribution and media inventory — a triple threat win for our clients.”
Jash was founded in 2013 by Emmy-nominated comedy producers DeLuca (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”), Daniel Kellison (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”) and digital video vet Mickey Meyer (“Epic Rap Battles”). Its founding partners also include comedians Sarah Silverman, Reggie Watts, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Michael Cera.
Jash has produced branded campaigns for Purina, Neuro Sleep, Smirnoff, Hyundai, Samsung, Chevy, Motorola and Totino’s Pizza Rolls, among others. Its work has been recognized four times by the Cannes Lions and by Ad Age’s “Ad of the Week.”
Additionally, Jash has produced over 100 original projects, including 10 series, distributed by major digital and linear networks, including Comedy Central, MTV, go90, Amazon, Twitch and YouTube.
