Dearest readers, as you’ve likely noticed already, we’ve made a very exciting switch to Medium, as part of their Publishers beta program. This is an important move for VideoInk for a few reasons (which I’ll get to), and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the vision for our future with you.
VideoInk was founded with the premise that the video industry needed a hard news source — a publication that would hold the industry accountable, rightfully and meritoriously celebrate its wins and, perhaps most importantly, shine a light on its dark side to educate, inform and inspire progress across the industry. In just three years, we’ve broken news, we’ve stirred the pot, we’ve been unapologetically irreverant at times but we’ve always strived to be a valuable and reliable resource for the knowledge workers paving the road to the future of online broadcasting, streaming and digital video.
But we’ve faced a harsh reality — just as the business we cover is nascient, so is our own.
And so — we’re making some changes.
Here’s what’s to come.
The first of these changes was our migration to Medium, where thought leadership and dynamic opinions thrive. Medium reaches over 25 million unique visitors per month, making VideoInk’s access to tastemakers, influencers and thought leaders more impactful than ever.
In the coming weeks there will be a shift in our coverage from news to bigger scoops, more in depth analysis and real needle-moving stories. We’ll start expanding learning opportunities and how-to’s for executive development, and we’ll bolster our coverage with powerful data and stats relevant for our readers to model their businesses for the future.
And you may have seen new sections in our newsletter. Moving forward, VideoInk’s newsletter will be a one-stop-shop for a round-up of must-know news, stats, charts and other perks.
As we approach our fourth year of business alongside all of you video change makers, I’m excited to make it our most impactful yet!
Thanks for your readership, and for your continued support.
The best is yet to come! We ask you to stick with us as we make these important changes! Stay tuned, as we’ll reveal exactly what we have up our sleeves in the coming weeks!
