World of Wonder, an award winning production company, is doubling down on its digital content with the announcement of two new original series. The production company, which is known for “RuPaul’s Drag Race” (Logo), “Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures” (HBO), “Out of Iraq” (Logo), and the “Million Dollar Listing franchise” (Bravo), kicks off its 2017 digital programming slate with the two new series “Haus of Edwards” and “Detox’s Life Rehab.”
‘Haus of Edwards” is an unscripted series immersed in the world of drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Justin Johnson, known by his stage name Alyssa Edwards along with his “drag daughter” Laganja Estranja, Jay Jackson. “Detox’s Life Rehab” features Detox from RuPaul’s Drag Race as she offers serious life hacks.
“Our goal is to create engaging content with truly original voices across all platforms.” says Fenton Bailey of World of Wonder. “Justin and Detox bring a unique combination of comedy and drama to everything they do. We’re thrilled to team with them to bring fans these exciting new series that will showcase their incredible talents.”
Hopefully this continues to expand the huge growth World of Wonders experienced in in 2016. It’s online presence reached more than 1 million UMVs for The WOW Report and produced 19 weekly shows for its owned and operated YouTube channel WOW Presents. The channel, which has 599,000 subscribers and 298 million total views, was up 53% in views in 2016.
The company says it will continue to invest in new digital programing throughout 2017, including the premiere of the 9th season of their award winning digital series “Untucked: RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
