When they launched in 2014, New Form positioned itself as a sure-to-be leader in premium, short-form digital video. Flash forward to today and COO JC Cangilla has a big message for the international broadcast community, which he addressed at the 4th Annual Digital Fronts at MIP TV — “We aren’t ‘short-form video’, we are quality scripted series.”
With funding from ITV and network deals with networks like TBS, New Form has a formula that appears to be working. And according to Cangilla’s presentation, New Form is upping the ante to over 40 pilots this year, as compared to the 30 it produced last year.
Cangilla also eluded to possible renewal for pilot series “Final Face” saying they are in discussions for additonal episodes.
For its third Digital Front presentation at MIP TV, New Form is furthing the trend that television and digital are no longer silo’ed businesses. Quality programming is quality programming regardless of whether it airs on go90 or on TBS.
