Roku TVs Will Soon Be Able To Detect What Viewers Are Watching On TV
Roku-Enabled TVs will soon be able to detect what viewers are watching on the Television, in hopes of suggesting content they may want to see. Compatible TVs will use automatic content recognition (ACR) technology to identify the content and then suggest viewing options available on Roku via SVOD services like Netflix, Hulu or Vudu.
Amazon Adds a New Feature To Its ‘FreeTime Unlimited’ Subscription ServiceAmazon added a parental control dashboard to its FreeTime Unlimited subscription service, which will also include daily activity reports for each child. The revamped dashboard allows parents to access a detailed daily report on their child’s media habit, showing exactly how much time they spent on each media category on any given day.

TiVo Signs a Multiyear IP Licensing Agreement With Roku
TiVo, a leader in entertainment technology and audience insights, has just signed a multiyear intellectual-property license agreement with Roku. The agreement covers TiVo and Rovi patent portfolios, which cover about 6000 issued and pending patents, including 4000 international. The agreement also covers the over-the-top patents in the Intellectual Ventures portfolio under the TiVo-IV licensing partnership.
