“Its a great time to be a content producer” — CEO & Founder Jon Skogmo
Jukin Media, the brand that specializes in user generated content, is looking to increase expansion outside of the U.S., according to founder and CEO Jon Skogmo.
This past week at Cannes Lions, Skogmo explained to Videoink’s Jocelyn Johnson how his 175-person team, who just opened an office in Australia, plans to continue the push beyond the borders of the U.S.
“We have now fours offices, one in Los Angeles, London, New York, and now we just opened up an office in Australia. We’re going to continue building out a global presence. And that’s through licensing (licensing more international content), original productions, and at the same time through linear television as well.”
In addition to expanding it borders, Jukin Media plans to launch several more brands in the next 18 months. As of now the company has launched fours brands, which have a total of 60 million subscribers and garner more than 1 billion views monthly.
“We have two [more] brands in incubation, and I hope in 18 months from now we’ll have one dozen brands in total,” explained Skogmo. “Its really important to build IP and we’re going to keep on doing that.”
