After almost 15 years at Viacom, Sarah Iooss is saying goodbye. The former SVP of business development is starting a new role as EVP of revenue at Mic the online millennial-focused news outlet.
During her time at Viacom, Iooss helped oversee strategic partnerships across the company’s digital, mobile and data-driven marketing footprints, this includes cutting Viacom’s deal with Snap Inc., which effectively expanded Viacom’s presence on the platform and gave the company rights to sell advertising for Snapchat.
In her new role, Iooss will oversee Mic’s sales team and market-facing products, she has also been tasked with the company’s media solutions and branded-content offerings.
“I’m a firm believer that consumers are looking for their social values to be reflected by the brands they interact with and support,” said Iooss in a statement. “I have followed Mic for some time with great admiration of how they help brands do exactly this. I’m thrilled to join this impressive team to help create impactful content and fuel even more important conversation amongst this powerful demographic of buyers.”
Iooss, who starts at Mic on Aug. 14, will be based at the company’s New York headquarters where she will report to president Jonathan Carson, the former chief revenue officer of Vevo who joined the company earlier this year.
“Sarah’s creative and strategic approach to content, partnerships and communications is incredibly impressive,” Carson said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the Mic team, helping to deliver those important perspectives to our brand partners.”
