Chive Media Group, the multiplatform digital media company with flagship brands theCHIVE and CHIVE TV, has appointed former investment banker Mike Grisko as Chief Financial Officer. The new hire comes at a time of rapid growth for the company and follows a recent rebranding, which transitioned Resignation Media to the newly named Chive Media Group.
Grisko was formerly Vice President at Moelis & Company, where he focused on M&A, capital markets, restructuring, and strategic advisory assignments within the TMT sector. He also previously worked at PwC and Lincoln International. In the new role, he will focus on helping the business scale through investing and other opportunities.
“I have watched Chive Media Group innovate and grow to its current scale over the past several years, while remaining true to the grassroots culture that made the company special. I am grateful to be joining the company at another exciting inflection point and look forward to helping this team shape the next chapter of its success story,” said Grisko.
The former investment banker is replacing co-founder of TheCHIVE Doug Schaaf who helped scale the company to 160 employees and more than $60M in revenue.
“We wish Doug nothing but the best as he starts the next chapter of his career. He has played a huge role strategically and operationally in getting theCHIVE to its current place,” said Leo Resig, co-founder of Chive Media Group. “We are excited to have Mike join our executive management team. He is a strong leader with significant corporate finance expertise, and his diverse set of experiences will make him a valuable resource as we execute our corporate strategy.”
The news follows a productive year for the company, which included the launch of CHIVE TV, an OTT video channel that reaches over 2,000 venues across the country, and a portfolio of blue chip sponsorship activations. It also follows a banner year for the company’s charitable arm – Chive Charities – which raised $10 million for individuals and communities in need across the country.
