The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and dick clark productions (dcp) today announced that they will partner with Facebook as the exclusive live streaming platform for “The HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet Live,” the official red carpet pre-show for the “75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The exclusive deal is sad news for Twitter, which live streamed the pre-show last year.
As part of the new deal, HFPA will share exclusive red carpet and backstage content on the Golden Globes Facebook page and @goldenglobes on Instagram, giving fans a real-time look at some of the most anticipated awards show of the season.
Additionally, Facebook 360 videos will be captured from the red carpet and throughout the pre-show, allowing the Facebook community a chance to explore the event through immersive videos.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Facebook and give viewers a front row seat to the red carpet that can’t be found anywhere else,” said HFPA President, Meher Tatna. “We hope to enhance the overall viewing experience so fans at home can feel they’re enjoying the show alongside their favorite stars at Hollywood’s biggest party of the year.”
The “75th Annual Golden Globe Awards” is set to air live coast-to-coast from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 8-11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT) on NBC. The awards show will be hosted by “Late Night’s” Seth Meyers.
