420TV, the marijuana-focused streaming service expected to launch early this year, is partnering with hip hop artist Trae the Truth on a new animation series based loosely on the artist’s life.
“Trae tha Truth,” which is produced by White Oak Music Group, follows the recording artist as he dispenses his “unique brand of comedy and wisdom to a clique of colorful insiders” that include: Grey, Jay’ton, Boss, Purpa and Birdfeed. The series is voiced by Trae, along with help from popular hip hop talent including Snoop Dogg, Marlon Wayans, Riff Raff, Omar Epps and B-Real.
White Oak Music Group previously produced 30-episodes of the show, which 420TV also acquired as part of the deal. The new 10-episode season is expected to debut on 420TV in early summer 2018.

“After my team and I met with the 420TV team, we knew that a partnership with them would be a great thing,” said Trae. “We look forward to continuing this amazing ride on the Cannabis movement wave. Thankfully, I’ve been given a lot of freedom with my show, and fans will be rewarded with more Trae tha Truth content that they love, back at it, in a fresh, all-new season.”
Trae tha Truth is a street rapper whose music is often inspired by the experiences of the disenfranchised. For his role as a civic leader, Trae was the first rapper in Texas to be given an official holiday by the City of Houston, which proclaimed July 22 “Trae Day” in 2008.
420TV was developed by 420 Entertainment Group, comprised of OWNZONES Media Network, Genesis Media, and Alex Nahai Enterprises.
