Jon Steinberg is the founder and CEO of Cheddar, a digital media company that produces business news for the cord-cutting generation.
In 2017, Fast Company named Cheddar one of the ten most innovative companies in media. According to a recent study conducted by Market Strategies International (MSI), a leading provider of cable TV measurement, Cheddar viewership has already climbed to 8% among U.S. millennials (12% among 18-24 year olds) after launching in 2016.
Steinberg was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of DailyMail.com North America where he grew U.S. revenue 45% and doubled direct advertising revenue. The industry veteran joined DailyMail.com from BuzzFeed where he served as President & Chief Operating Officer, responsible for business management, company operations, finance, and social advertising operations.
In this week’s “5 Questions,” Steinberg discusses the types of videos that are driving traffic to Cheddar and the rising trend of appointment viewing for live streamed events.
