Steve Reed (pictured), the former National VP of Sales at CBS Interactive, has found a new home at Machinima as the entertainment company’s VP of Brand Partnerships. Reed will report to Machinima SVP/General Manager Russell Arons, who made the announcement today.
“Machinima’s brand has never been stronger and this is an incredible time for brands to partner with us in order to take advantage of our incredible reach with Millennial gamers,” said Arons. “Steve comes to Machinima with a reputation for innovation and the ability to develop unique large scale brand experiences, connecting audiences with products in a way that is creative, compelling and entertaining.”
The industry veteran will develop and implement strategic ad sales plans to leverage Machinima’s media, custom content production, original programming, events, influencer talent, and Business Intelligence abilities to achieve ad sales and growth goal. Reed will be responsible for building out and managing Machinima’s brand-facing sales force through a mix of competitive positioning, pricing, coverage and territories, and the establishment of team and individual goals over a wide range of high profile clients and will develop and execute content-based solutions to match marketer’s needs to reach Machinima’s valuable, young gaming and fandom obsessed audience.
During his time at CBS, Reed managed sales across gaming, entertainment, technology and lifestyle verticals including GameSpot, CNET and TV Guide. In 2015, he led sales efforts supporting the launch of Studio 61, a CBS Interactive content studio delivering creative, talent & video production with digital audience generated insights.
Machinima is a division of Warner Bros. Digital Networks. The company acquired the gaming-focused entertainment company in November of 2016 in a deal valued at slightly under $100 Million.
