Complex Networks, the digital entertainment company with a male-stewed millennial audience, has brought on Christian Baesler (pictured) to be its first-ever president. Reporting directly to CEO Rich Antoniello, Baesler is charged with growing the company’s portfolio of brands – Complex, First We Feast, Rated Red, Sole Collector, and Pigeons & Planes. Baesler will be based in the company’s New York headquarters starting April 2.
“I’ve been following Complex’s rapid growth for years and am very impressed by what Rich and the exceptionally talented team have built,” said Baesler. “I’m incredibly excited to join at this critical time to help build Complex Networks into the world’s leading force in youth culture.”
Prior to Complex, Baesler spent almost ten years at Bauer Media Group initially based at its headquarters in Hamburg, and then relocating to New York to create Bauer Xcel Media, focusing on growing its online brands and expanding its global digital portfolio. During his time at Bauer Media’s global digital division Xcel, he built the U.S. operation into a team of more than 70 across editorial, technology, marketing and product management.
Currently, Complex Networks produces over 30 daily and weekly series across its digital brands, available through YouTube and social channels,along with a growing list of distributors including Verizon, Fuse, Facebook and MSG Network among others. Its flagship shows, “Sneaker Shopping” and “Hot Ones,” each have over 250 million lifetime views, and its newest series “The Burger Show” garnered over 4 million views in its first month of launch.
