A new reality series starring Christian Ronaldo could be heading to Facebook Watch. The social media giant is in talks to bring the 13-episode series to the video platform and is willing to pay Ronaldo around $10-million to do so, according to a report from Variety.
Ronaldo is arguably one of the most recognizable faces in all of soccer, commanding a following of more than 120 million followers for his official Facebook page. If the deal goes through, the series would have the star potential to be one of the platform’s biggest hits.
According to the report, CAA is packaging the series, which is expected to be produced by Matador Content and Religion of Sports, a sports-media firm founded by Gotham Chopra, Michael Strahan, Tom Brady, and production company Dirty Robber.
This wouldn’t be the first Facebook series Ronaldo has been a part of. The Portuguese footballer is also attached to a scripted series recently picked up by the social media giant. The show follows a high-school girls soccer team in upstate New York.
According to Variety’s sources, the reality show would be similar to that of Facebook’s Tom Brady docu-series “Tom vs. Time,” which follows the New England Patriots QB both on and off the field in his 18th season in the NFL.
