Marc Hustvedt (pictured) is exiting multi-channel network Above Average to fill the role of CEO at Fine Brothers Entertainment (FBE).
In his new role, Hustvedt will help lead FBE’s 75 person media company as it launches new next-generation networks for digital-first audiences built around highly engaged communities. His focus will also include pursuing strategic partners to accelerate the company’s growth and increasing FBE’s award-winning content format development for digital and traditional platforms.
Hustvedt will lead FBE from its Los Angeles headquarters, which also houses FBE’s four internal production studios
“All of us at FBE are thrilled to welcome Marc Hustvedt as our new CEO. Marc is a proven leader who has continually innovated in the digital entertainment space,” says FBE co-founder Rafi Fine. “As the company looks to the future and builds out these next-generation networks, we are excited to have Marc on board to help FBE fully realize this vision and continue to be part of transforming the media industry like we have for the last 14 years.”
Prior to serving as CEO of Above Average, Hustvedt was the founder and CEO of Supergravity Pictures, a global digital-first entertainment studio and distributor that was acquired by Gunpowder & Sky. Hustvedt is also a co-founder of top digital news outlet Tubefilter and the top annual award show for digital entertainment, The Streamy Awards.
“FBE is something truly unparalleled in the industry, and the chance to join this very talented FBE team in building this next phase of the company is an incredible honor,” said Hustvedt. “FBE’s programming has become a daily habit for millions of people of all ages as they actively seek out ways to better understand the world. That focus on the audience is at the core of everything FBE does, and the foundation of what makes the next-generation network model so durable.”
Founded in 2004, FBE has grown into a thriving media company and studio with 15 serialized shows every week on its owned and operated digital channels, which reach more than 30 million subscribers and 250 million monthly views.
