Furthering its efforts to be a leader in the direct-to-consumer streaming market, Discovery Communications (pictured) has appointed Peter Faricy as the company’s first CEO of Global Direct-to-Consumer. Faricy will oversee Discovery’s global digital and direct-to-consumer businesses, including the company’s GO TV Everywhere products, as well as Motor Trend, Eurosport Player, Discovery Kids, Dplay. He will also work to strengthen Discovery’s strategic alliance with PGA TOUR to create the global home of golf.
Faricy will report to Zaslav. JB Perrette, President and CEO of Discovery Networks International.

Faricy brings to Discovery more than twenty years of leadership experience at the intersection of technology and media. Most recently, he worked for Amazon, where he led the growth of the Amazon Marketplace, the company’s third-party seller business. Faricy has also held leadership roles at Borders Group, Ford, and McKinsey.

Faricy begins at Discovery on September 17, 2018.
