Bitcoin has dropped 70 percent in 2018, but several cryptocurrency veterans tell TheWrap it’s not going away anytime soon
Is bitcoin dead? Or, at the very least, dying?
It's easy to get that impression, with the price of the granddaddy cryptocurrency plunging 48 percent since November 1. Take another step back, and the picture gets even uglier: At about $3,550 per bitcoin on Wednesday morning, bitcoin's price is down more than 70 percent since the start of 2018.
For bitcoin's true believers, though, the downturn has done little to dent their confidence. Instead, they say the washout has actually been a good sign for bitcoin's long-term viability.
"Bitcoin is about as far from dead as can be," Michael Goldstein, co-host of the "Noded Bitcoin Podcast," told TheWrap.
