Smith will be based in Los Angeles and report directly to CEO Benjamin Blank
Uproxx has hired former Condé Nast vice president of sales Adam Smith to be its new chief revenue officer, the digital media company announced Thursday. In his new position, Smith will oversee revenue growth for the Uproxx, and will help it explore new partnerships and branding opportunities in the digital space. Based in Los Angeles, Smith will report directly to Uproxx CEO Benjamin Blank.
“Adam’s experience across diverse media properties and content platforms makes him a perfect fit for Uproxx’s multi-dimensional approach to telling stories that shape culture,” Blank said. “His deep sales and strategic background, combined with the invaluable relationships he’s built across the industry, will be a huge asset to Uproxx, and we’re all excited to welcome him to the team.”

During his time at Condé Nast, Smith oversaw West Coast video and L.A. sales for the company for a little over a year. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Vevo as the company’s first sales resource on the West Coast. After joining Vevo in 2010, Smith advanced to overseeing the company’s national entertainment vertical, as well all U.S. sales. Prior to Vevo, he spent four years at Myspace.
Founded by Jarret Myer and Brian Brater in 2008, Uproxx is an entertainment and culture site that caters to males aged 18-34. The company, which began placing more emphasis on producing video content in 2013, was acquired last year by Warner Music Group.
