Producer Michael Rourke has been named CEO of Shout Media, a production company launched by marketing and communications provider MDC Partners to develop new properties and branded content.
Shout Media plans to develop and produce TV programs for traditional TV distribution through network, cable and syndication. It also will develop and produce nontraditional branded content to reach across all digital media platforms.
Rourke has created and developed a number of TV shows for the likes of Bravo, OWN, Fox and Twentieth Television, and had a production deal with Sony Pictures Television for nine years. For SPT, he created syndicated court shows "Judge Hatchett," "Judge Maria Lopez" and "Judge David Young" and executive produced daily talk show "Ricki Lake."
"Today’s strategic marketers are consistently seeking new and inventive platforms to deliver immersive brand engagement, entertainment and ongoing interaction with consumers. The formation of Shout Media allows our partner firms to immediately offer world-class creative, production skills and exciting branded content both in traditional mediums and digital engagement," Miles S. Nadal, MDC Partners’ chairman-CEO, said in a statement.
Shout Media is building teams to aggressively develop projects in both unscripted television and digital media. It has several shows already in development as well as "Pregnant in Heels" in production for Bravo. That show profiles Rosie Pope, owner-designer of Rosie Pope Maternity, a high-end maternity brand for the most sophisticated mothers-to-be.
