Mickey Jones, ‘Justified’ and ‘Total Recall’ Actor, Dies at 76

Actor died “of the effects of a long illness,” spokeswoman says

Mickey Jones, the actor whose many credits include “Sling Blade” and “Total Recall,” died Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the actor told TheWrap. He was 76.

“Mickey Jones died at 2:17 a.m. today of the effects of a long illness,” the spokeswoman said.

Jones’ numerous appearances also included a run on the long-running FX series “Justified,” as marijuana distributor Rodney ‘Hot Rod’ Dunham, and on “Home Improvement,” as Pete Bilker.

Born in Houston, Jones was also an accomplished drummer, playing with artists including Trini Lopez, Johnny Rivers and Kenny Rogers’ band The New Edition. He playing on many hit tunes, including “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In).”

Jones published an autobiography, “That Would Be Me,” in 2009.
