Mike Darnell (pictured) is about to take on a project even scarier than some of the early auditions on “American Idol.”
Darnell, the former alternative programming chief for Fox, has landed a pilot about a haunted house with ABC, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Details are scant about the project, but the project is being developed with someone who knows a thing or two about fear-inducing subject matter: Jason Blum, producer of the “Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious” film franchises, is serving as executive producer.
The project is being produced by Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television. After leaving Fox after nearly 20 years early this year, Darnell signed on with Warner Bros. Television Group, as president, Warner Bros. unscripted and alternative television.
