Christopher Nolan is one loyal A-list director.
"The Dark Night Rises" auteur and his producing partner Emma Thomas will executive produce cinematographer Wally Pfister’s untitled directorial debut.
Pfister provided the sleek and moody camera work for seven of Nolan's films — a collection that includes "Batman Begins," "The Prestige" and "Memento." Pfister won an Oscar for his work on "Inception."
Alcon entertainment is financing and producing the project with a screenplay by newcomer Jack Paglen. The plot is being kept under wraps.
Principal photography is set to begin in the fall or early winter.
In a joint statement, Nolan and Thomas said: 'We have been hoping to work with Wally as a director for a long time, and are thrilled to be working on such an original and exciting project alongside him and Alcon'.
