john junior gottiJohn “Junior” Gotti,, the son of infamous mob boss John Gotti, has sold his life-rights to Fiore Films.

Fiore Films will produce and distribute a feature-length film about Gotti's own criminal activities, as well as his relationship with his father,  the former head of the Gambino crime family.

Fiore said that deal marks the first time a member of the Gotti family has entered into an agreement to tell their story, although Victoria Gotti and her brood starred in an A&E reality series “Growing Up Gotti” from 2004 to 2005.

Production on the as-of-yet untitled film is expected to begin in March and will be shot in New York. The film is slated to be released theatrically in Fall 2011.

Fiore said it expects to announce the film’s director and two lead actors who will play Gotti and Gotti Jr., by the end of the year.

In a release touting the project, the company said that talks are underway with several Academy Award®-winning actors and directors who have “expressed interest in the project.” Fiore Films CEO Marc Fiore may have tipped his hand a little when he told the Associated Press that Sylvester Stallone was circling the project.

Gotti has been tried four times for racketeering, with each trial ending in a hung jury. He was released from prison in December after serving nine years in a previous racketeering case.
