"Battlestar Galactica" veteran Michael Hogan has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ "Red Riding Hood," the studio has confirmed to TheWrap.
Hogan will play a mysterious character named The Reeve.
Catherine Hardwicke’s supernatural thriller will be the director’s follow-up to "Twilight." Amanda Seyfried stars alongside Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman.
David Leslie Johnson ("Orphan") wrote the script, which is set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf. The story follows a young girl (Seyfried) who is engaged to be married (to Irons) but falls for an orphaned woodcutter (Fernandez), much to her family’s displeasure.
Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Ireland and Alex Mace are producing. Julie Yorn will serve as executive producer.
Hogan is best known for playing Colonel Saul Tigh on "Battlestar Galactica" for four seasons. He recently wrapped the action movie "Hunt to Kill," starring Eric Roberts and Steve Austin, and also co-stars opposite Jason Dohring, Minka Kelly and Masi Oka in Andrew Disney’s comedic thriller "Searching for Sonny."
Production on "Red Riding Hood" begins in late July. WB will release the film on April 22, 2011.
Hogan is represented by Jamie Levitt, Celia Chassels and Thruline Entertainment.
