MTV has announced the new cast and set the premiere date for “Scream” Season 2.

The TV adaptation of the late Wes Craven‘s classic horror film series will return on Tuesday, May 31.

Returning stars Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Tom Maden, Tracy Middendorf, Amadeus Serafini, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Carlson Young will be joined by new series regulars Kiana Ledé and Santiago Segura.

The new season will begin with Emma’s return to Lakewood after several months at a retreat, where she tried to recover from the horrors of last season.

Ledé will join the series as Zoe, a driven overachiever with a secret, and Segura will play Gustavo, a dark and brooding outsider who is a skilled artist deeply into horror, serial killers and comic books.

Other new recurring cast members are Anthony Ruivivar as Gustavo’s father Sheriff Michael Acosta, an outspoken, competent and experienced cop; Austin Highsmith as Karen Lang, a young, idealistic high school psychology teacher who becomes a confidant and mentor to her students; Sean Grandillo as Kieran’s cousin Eli who presents as squeaky clean image, but may have ulterior motives; and Karina Logue as Tina Hudson, who is proper and polite, but with a grifter’s sense of self-reliance.

Michael Gans and Richard Register serve as executive producers and showrunners for Season 2, along with Harvey and Bob Weinstein who executive produce for Dimension TV.

Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad are also EPs.  Matthew Signer and Keith Levine produce.

Craven passed away last August at age 76 just as the first season was wrapping up.
