The CW’s “Nancy Drew” faced the Mystery of the Missing Viewers on Wednesday. The freshman drama managed to bring in just 686,000 viewers when put up against Game 7 of the World Series on Fox.
Meanwhile, “Survivor” shed two-tenths of a Nielsen ratings point in the key adults 18-49 demo on the night of the Washington Nationals’ victory over the Houston Astros.
But it wasn’t just the long-running CBS competition series that took a hit during Wednesday’s primetime, as truly nothing stood a chance against the final game in the battle between the Nationals and Astros for the Commissioner’s Trophy.
Due to the nature of live sports, the below fast-affiliate ratings for Fox should be considered subject to significant adjustment.
Fox was first in ratings with a 5.6 rating/23 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 21.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. The network’s entire primetime block was filled up by the Nats’ 6-2 victory over the Astros.
NBC was second in ratings with a 1.1/5 and in viewers with 7.1 million. At 8 p.m., “Chicago Med” scored a 1.2/5 and 7.8 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Fire” earned a 1.1/5 and 7.3 million viewers. “Chicago P.D.” at 10 posted a 1.1/5 and 6.3 million viewers.
CBS was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 4.7 million. “Survivor” at 8 received a 1.1/5 and 6.3 million viewers. At 9, “SEAL Team” got a 0.7/3 and 4.4 million viewers. At 10, “S.W.A.T.” settled for a 0.5/2 and 3.4 million viewers.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in viewers with 3.2 million. At 8, “The Goldbergs” started the night with a 0.9/4 and 4.1 million viewers. “Schooled” at 8:30 had a 0.7/3 and 3.2 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 put up a 1.0/4 and 3.9 million viewers. At 9:30, “Single Parents” ended the sitcom block with a 0.7/3 and 2.7 million viewers. “Stumptown” at 10 closed the night with a 0.5/2 and 2.7 million viewers.
Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, each with a 0.4/2. Telemundo was fifth in viewers with 1.3 million and Univision was sixth with 1.1 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 735,000. At 8, “Riverdale” had a 0.2/1 and 783,000 viewers. “Nancy Drew” at 9 settled for a 0.1/1 and 686,000 viewers.
