New Iggy Azalea Video ‘Team’ Drops Amid Fiance’s Alleged Cheating Scandal (Video)

As Iggy and Nick Young’s relationship drama disrupts the Los Angeles Lakers’ team chemistry, her new video asks, “Are you f–king with the team?”

Iggy Azalea released a video for her new single “Team” on Thursday in what feels like a well-timed response to Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell leaking a video of the rapper’s fiance Nick Young appearing to admit to cheating on her.

Azalea tweeted wryly about the situation with Young and Russell on Wenesday, saying: “hmmm i see D Angelo Russell is trending… I actually liked his film. Thanks bro.”

Iggy’s new single, which dropped on March 18 in advance of Thursday’s video reveal, just so happens to be very topical given the circumstances.

With lyrics like “Baby I got me/Only friend I need/Playing on my team” and “Oh baby no way/Watch me while I do my thing/Are you fucking with the team,” it’s hard not to view the timing of the video drop as a pointed response.

The “Team” video ends with Azalea being forcibly separated from her team of dancers by police, who drag her into a small jet and make her sit across from her doppelganger, whose face is pixelated.

Meanwhile, Russell claims he does not know how the video of Young talking about meeting a woman at a club, which was shot a couple of months ago, appeared within the last few days on a celebrity gossip Twitter feed.

The 20-year-old point guard has reportedly been isolated by his teammates for what is considered a breach of trust, and at the Lakers game on Wednesday against the Miami Heat, fans booed Russell regularly throughout the game, which the team won in overtime. The Lakers are nearing the end of what will likely end up being the worst season in team history and will be veteran star Kobe Bryant’s last.
