A rather gory image promoting Fox’s upcoming “Wolverine” sequel “Logan” on Instagram (@wponx) features a severed arm clutching a shotgun, illustrating exactly why the film is angling for an R rating.

It’s pretty safe to say that the bad guy who previously held the shotgun had a nasty run-in with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and by the looks of it, painfully lost an arm in the process.

On Wednesday, Jackson and director James Mangold finally revealed the title for the film, and a poster that shows Logan’s clawed hand held by the small hand of a child.

Mangold also tweeted out the second page of the script, which says that Logan is “older” and that “it’s clear his abilities aren’t what they once were.”

TheWrap exclusively broke further details from an insider who said that the girl in the poster is a young mutant. In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why.

We find out about a government-type operation called “Transigen” that is turning mutant children into killing machines. Logan mentors the girl, who has two claws instead of three.

“Logan” is set to be released in theaters on March 3, 2017 with Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart reprising their previous “X-Men” franchise roles, alongside Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal.
