New ‘The Muppets’ Sneak Peek Teases Fake Reality Show (Video)

Series premieres Tuesday, Sept. 22

ABC has released a new teaser for the “The Muppets,” featuring the show’s characters talking about their new “unscripted” series.

“Cameras on all the time,” says Gonzo in the featurette. “Everything is unscripted.”

The new faux-reality series is set up as a behind-the-scenes look at the fictional ABC late night talk show “Up Late With Miss Piggy.” Liam Hemsworth, Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks and Topher Grace are among those set to make appearances as themselves on the show.

“New fans are going to see lots of first-rate comedy material,” promises Fozzie Bear of the series.

“The Muppets” is co-created and executive-produced by Bill Prady (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Bob Kushell (“3rd Rock From the Sun”). Randall Einhorn (“The Office”), Bill Barretta (“Muppets Most Wanted”), Debbie McClellan and Kyle Laughlin also serve as executive producers. It is produced by ABC Studios and The Muppets Studio.

“The Muppets” premieres Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
