New ‘X-Files’ Teaser, Poster Light Up the Skies (Video)

Six-episode revival of Fox series will premiere Jan. 24

A new teaser and poster for “The X-Files” revival will make you take a second look at strange lights in the sky.

In the teaser, we see amateur video of the strange streak of light reported by hundreds of people in Southern California in early November.

As the video plays, Mulder (David Duchovny) says in voiceover, “We must ask ourselves are we truly alone? Or are we being lied to?”

The poster features Mulder and Scully (Gillian Anderson) superimposed over a large black X, with a bright light appearing the sky behind them.

During its initial nine-season run, “The X-Files” became one of the most successful television dramas of all time, hitting a peak ratings high in 1997 when more than 27 million people tuned in to the Season 5 premiere.

“The X-Files” six-episode event series kicks off on January 24, 2016 on Fox.
