Nickelodeon Greenlights Rob Dyrdek Viral Sports Series ‘Crashletes’ for Nicktoons (Exclusive)

Clip show will air during NickSports TV block starting in 2016

Nickelodeon has ordered 20 episodes of “Crashletes” (working title) from executive producers Rob Dyrdek and Shane Nickerson of Superjacket Productions for its Nicktoons channel, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

Each episode will feature guest personalities from the worlds of sports and entertainment along with viral sports clips. The half-hour series will curate the top sports highlights and user-generated content from around the world, and debut in the NickSports TV block on Nicktoons in 2016.

“Crashletes” is the second collaboration between Dyrdek and NickSports following the hit animated show “Wild Grinders,” inspired by the professional skateboarder and entrepreneur’s real-life experiences.

“We’re excited to partner again with Rob Dyrdek on a brand-new series that combines his unique eye for what’s happening in youth culture and sports, his irreverent sense of humor and the outrageous world of viral videos,” said Keith Dawkins, Executive Vice President of TeenNick and Nicktoons. “Crashletes will have all the relatable humor, fun and authentic moments that kids and families love about NickSports.”

The NickSports block airs every Wednesday from 9-11 p.m. ET on Nicktoons. It features a lineup of original and acquired sports-themed programming including series, specials, movies and documentaries from major professional athletes and sports leagues including the NFL, MLS, NASCAR, WWE, MLB and PGA.

Dyrdek and Nickerson’s Superjacket is also behind such hit shows as MTV’s “Rob and Big,” “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” and “Ridiculousness.”
