Were cocaine and marijuana once daily staples in Nigella Lawson’s recipe for life?

Fox News reports allegations have emerged in a fraud trial that celebrity chef Lawson, recently of ABC’s “The Taste,” used cocaine, marijuana and pills on a daily basis for more than 10 years.

According to the claims, the alleged drug use was so extensive that Lawson’s now ex-husband, Charles Saatchi, dubbed her “Higella” when he found out about it, according to Fox News.

The allegations were released by British judge, Robin Johnson, stemming from an upcoming trial against two former assistants who are accused of defrauding Lawson and her husband to the tune of nearly $500,000. There had previously been a gag order imposed over the evidence, but Johnson lifted the order, ruling that the evidence could be used by defendants Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo.

The Grillos, who are sisters, contend that they were allowed use of corporate credit cards in exchange for staying mum about Lawson’s alleged “guilty secret.”

The New York Daily News reports that the allegations include an email from Saatchi — who was photographed choking Lawson earlier this year — to the chef, complaining that she was “so off her head on drugs.”

A representative for Lawson had no comment for TheWrap on the allegations.
