Oscar Winner Michael Minkler Named Chief Creative Officer of MPMG (Exclusive)

Sound mixer counts Academy Awards for “Black Hawk Down,” “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls”

Three-time Academy Award-winning sound mixer Michael Minkler has been named Chief Creative Officer of Moving Pictures Media Group.

Minkler’s resume counts over 250 films across five decades. He’s received Oscars for “Blackhawk Down,” “Chicago” and “Dreamgirls.” He also assumes the title of Managing Director at MPMG, which offers services in development, production and post-production, distribution and marketing for independent films.

Minkler has previously collaborated with directors Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas.

“Making films is the ultimate collaborative art form. I am excited to be a part of MPMG and bring forth a company that filmmakers will respect and be able to lean on,” Minkler told the TheWrap.

MPMG’s current slate includes “100 Days of Death,” “Mad Mex,” “Blue Valley USA,” “Law Man,” “Rogue” and “The Hoodlum Preacher.”
