Overture Falls for ‘Celeste’

Rashida Jones will star in and co-write the romantic comedy.

Overture is developing "Celeste and Jesse Forever," a romantic comedy that will star Rashida Jones.

The film is about a divorcing couple who attempt to maintain their friendship while pursuing new relationships.

Jones co-wrote the screenplay with Will McCormack, and the film will be produced by Suzanne and Jenifer Todd’s Team Todd shingle.

Team Todd is currently producing "Alice in Wonderland," which reteams Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.

Aside from playing the female lead in this spring’s "I Love You, Man," Jones is currently starring in television’s “Parks and Recreation.”

Overture’s next film is Sundance award-winner "Paper Heart," being released on August 7. The company also has slated for release the as-yet-untitled Michael Moore project, which opens October 2nd.

Overture also recently announced the acquisition of "The Men Who Stare at Goats," starring George Clooney and Kevin Spacey, as well as the development of a modern-day "Hamlet," starring Emile Hirsch in the lead role with Catherine Hardwicke directing.
