Paramount Pictures plans to expand its office in China and shift its business operations from Shanghai to Beijing, the studio announced on Thursday.
The relocation to Beijing, which as the capital is the center of film production, distribution and marketing for China’s fast growing market, is expected to happen over the next several months.
However, Zhe Chen, the General Manager of Paramount China, will not be making the move and relocating to Beijing, Paramount Pictures said, citing family reasons.
The studio went on to express its thanks to Zhe for his many contributions and consistent professionalism during his 14 years with the company (including under the previous UIP joint venture), and say it wishes him much success in the future.
A new General Manager is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
