Paul Buccieri Named Managing Director of ITV Studios International

Has overseen production slate including “Kitchen Nightmares,” “First 48”

Paul Buccieri, who has overseen production on shows including "Kitchen Nightmares" and "The First 48," has been named managing director of ITV Studios International.

The promotion was announced Wednesday. Buccieri, who is also an executive producer of NBC's upcoming version of the British show "Prime Suspect," will report to managing director of ITV studios Kevin Lygo. Buccieri will remain in charge of ITV Studios America, of which he has been president and CEO since 2007.

Wednesday 27th July 2011– Paul Buccieri has been appointed Managing Director ITV Studios International, it was announced today by Adam Crozier at the ITV plc interim results presentation. In the newly created role Paul will develop and oversee the business’ international strategy with responsibility for leading growth through international production and exploitation of ITV Studios’ brands. 

Reporting to Kevin Lygo, Managing Director ITV Studios, Paul will oversee all international production companies and ITV Studios Global Entertainment, ITV’s distribution and consumer products business. He will continue to have overall responsibility for ITV Studios America, where he has been President and CEO for the last four years.

Kevin Lygo commented “In the UK our creative pipeline continues to build; and with the first of our new entertainment formats beginning to air we must look to how the international business can grow off the back of UK success. I’m delighted Paul has taken on this expanded role to lead our international strategy. He has vast experience in both production and commissioning and has been responsible for some of our most successful international shows. He starts this new role with a raft of ideas and energy to guide the international business into its next stage of growth.”

Paul Buccieri said “We already have a great deal of international expertise in ITV Studios and ITVS GE; our focus is to expand the business by leveraging that expertise and our international footprint to build on our portfolio of global hits, both in scripted and non-scripted. We are also targeting investment to increase co-productions, such as Titanic, and in resources to grow our consumer products business. I look forward to building on the successes already achieved by ITV Studios’ Global Entertainment and our international production businesses.”

Paul joined ITV Studios America in 2007 as President and CEO.  In his first year he grew the business by 40% and has increased production every year since. Paul has overseen a production slate which includesHell’s KitchenUS – one of ITV Studios’ most successful finished programmes internationally,Steven Seagal: Lawman, The First 48, Buried Treasure, Nanny 911, Kitchen Nightmares, Four Weddings andCelebrity Fit Club. This autumn sees the launch of Prime Suspect US for NBC; co-produced by ITV Studios America, Paul is also Executive Producer. ITV Studios America is currently producing three US syndication shows including Jeremy Kyle US, which is currently in production and launches in September this year.

Before arriving at ITV Studios, Paul was President of Programming, Production and Development for Fox’s Twentieth Television division.  In his final year, he was responsible for overseeing 500 hours of programming. Prior to this time, Buccieri worked as an executive producer, under a three-year overall deal with Endemol USA, while developing and producing shows including Anything For Love, Performing As… and The Next Great Champ for FOX, and I Want To Be A Hilton and Finding Mr. Right for NBC.
